As we start the “2013 Chari Center Challenge” please weigh yourself, take your body measurements & write it down!
We will recheck these measurements in a few weeks.
Tips for taking your body measurements: A. * Please write down today’s date and your body weight (in lbs. or kgs.) and body measurements. * Don’t forget to write it down!
B. Very Important: Do not be hard on yourself when you both weigh & measure yourself, this is just a starting point.
Tips for taking your Body Measurements: 1. Use a cloth tape measurement (not metal one) 2. Fully circle the areas you are measuring 3. When you circle the areas, make sure the tape is not either too tight or too loose 4. Measure yourself on your bare skin: (do not measure over clothes!) 5. Measure the following areas: going in a circle around these areas a. Waist: Measure the circumference of your natural waistline. • Use the tape to make a circle around your natural waistline (located above your belly button and below your rib cage).
* Tip to find your natural waistline: While you are standing straight, bend over to the side or front and make a note of where your body creases or folds. This is your natural waistline. It should be the most narrow part of your waist.
• Then stand straight and wrap the tape around your natural waistline. • Bring the tape measure together in the center front. Remember, don’t suck in your stomach!
b. Chest: Measure the circumference of your chest.• Place one end of the tape measure at the fullest part of your bust & wrap it around (under your armpits, around your shoulder blades and back to the front) to measure your chest.
c. Hips: Measure the circumference of your hips. Make sure the tape is over the largest part of your buttocks (its best to use a mirror to make sure the tape is level).
• Keep your back straight and heels together. • Wrap a tape measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks (usually 7 to 9 inches below your natural waist). • Start at one hip and wrap the tape measure around your buttocks, then go around the other hip and back to where you started. • Keep the tape measure parallel to the floor. • Bring the tape measure together in the center front while keeping your legs straight & feet together.
d. Upper Arm: Measure the circumference of your upper arm (going around in a circle around your upper arm). • Wrap the tape measure around the widest part of your upper arm, starting and ending at the front.
e. Thigh: Measure the circumference of your upper thigh • Stand in front of a mirror with your legs slightly apart • Wrap a tape measure around the widest part of your upper thigh. • Keep the tape measure parallel to the floor • Bring the ends of the tape measure together in the front of your thigh
